Sailing

Members are welcome to sail at Weston any time. The double high water in Southampton Water extends the hours of available sailing time. There are three slipways for easy launching. The clubhouse has spacious changing rooms with hot water available at all times.

Club racing

If you enjoy dinghy racing, Weston runs handicap racing for most of the year. Southampton Water's double tide enables racing to be held most weekends, with up to 6 races on Cup weekends. Please see our Club Calendar.

Club boat hire

Weston SC has various club boats available for hire by members. They are split into two categories. The first category covers clubs boats free to book and hire and include Lasers, Pico's, Toppers and a RS Zest.

The club also has premium boats for hire for club racing, which include Topaz cats, XD laser, a Byte and a Laser 4000. There are also two Visions and a Feva for both racing and social sailing events. These are all generally £10.00 per person per day.

All sails and equipment are kept in the training shed and marked or labelled according to the boat.

If you are looking to hire a club boat, please use the club website under Booking and Logbook - Book slot - Choose the boat from the drop down menu and follow the instructions regarding date of hire / availability.

Training

For information about training, please see our Training Section.

Youth sailing

Our varied sailing programme can be used to encourage and progress our future sailors. Both Family and Single memberships can be extended to cover children at no additional cost

Social Events

Weston holds various social events throughout the year, usually aligned to our Open and Invitational events. Bring your family along and join in with the club socials. See the facebook page for details.

Out of normal hours sailing

Club members are very welcome to use the club outside of normal club operating hours, but if members choose to sail at the club during non-racing periods when club patrol cover is not available, they do so at their own risk.

Club Members/visitors should make adequate precautions to ensure their own safety. For example their boat(s) should be suitable and seaworthy for the trip they are planning. They should notify a 3rd party of their intended trip and sailing activity. They should carry appropriate means of communication. They should carry adequate safety equipment.
